FAQ’s

  • How do I book a class?

You will need to go to your app store or google play store and download the AVA Fitness app. You can then create an account, purchase whichever option you like and then you can start booking classes!

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

Our app can accept all major credit cards (no visa debit) at this time. We do accept visa debit in studio if you would rather pay with Interac/ visa debit.

  • What is the Check In process?

Upon arrival you will be asked your name and we will check you in at the front desk. You will be asked to remove your outdoor shoes and leave them in the cubbies at the front. You can walk around the storefront/shop area to check out any merchandise or wait on one of the benches or chairs in the waiting area until your class starts.

  • Can anyone take classes?

Yes! We are an all inclusive studio and everyone is welcome to enjoy our classes regardless of race, gender, identity, religious views, body type or ability.

  • I'm in a marginalized community, am I safe to attend?

Absolutely! We are an all inclusive space and want everyone to feel safe to attend classes. Racism, bullying, harassment or any other forms of hate or prejudice will not be tolerated in our facility whatsoever.

  • I'm nervous, what can I expect from my first time?

A whole lot of fun! Our staff and teachers are warm & welcoming and will make you feel at ease as soon as you walk through our doors. There will often be other “first timers” in the studio like you so don’t worry, you won’t be alone!

  • What do I wear?

For Pole classes, we recommend you wear shorts and a tank top or sports bra. Shorts are ideal so your skin can grip onto the pole. Most people attending the technical pole classes go in bare feet or socks. Platform heels (like Pleasers) can be worn in any erotic, heels or choreography class.

For Aerial, Flexibility, Floor Dance and Fitness classes we recommend yoga leggings and tank tops. Indoor running shoes are not required.

  • Where can I buy Platform Heels?

You can purchase basic heels or platform boots in our Studio or online! If you are taking any of our Erotic, Heels or Choreo classes we highly recommend Pleaser (or similar) platform heels as they will make dancing around the pole and slinking across the floor much easier for you!

  • Where can I find parking?

There is plenty of pay by meter street parking in front and around our studio. Alternatively, you can park at New West sky train station across the street and walk over (approx 2 min walk).

  • Are you Accessible?

Yes! The entry way into our studio is flat and our entry doors are wide enough to fit a wheelchair through. We also have an accessible washroom with a wider door and hand rail. There is also a disabled parking spot right in front of the studio.

  • What are your class safety protocols?

Pole Dancing and Aerial arts are high level, high risk activities that can potentially result in injury. For aerial classes we provide 4’x6’ 12” inch thick crash mats under each aerial apparatus. Aerial training without a crash mat is not permitted. All pole classes are led with a 10-15 minute warm up to help prevent injuries and any advanced pole tricks are always spotted by an instructor or fellow class mate who knows how to spot properly. We do have pole crash mats for use as well in the more advanced classes.

  • Do you provide Yoga/Crash Mats?

We do provide 12” inch thick crash mats for our aerial classes and we do have a couple of pole crash mats available as well for any advanced classes. We no longer provide Yoga Mats for our clients due to the lengthy cleaning times. Yoga Mats are not required but it is recommended that you bring one with you for pole class warms up and any fitness or flexibility classes so you are more comfortable.

  • What are your cleaning protocols?

We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our studio and spend an hour before classes start everyday cleaning and sanitizing the washrooms, all high touch areas and floors. In between classes all equipment (poles, hoops etc) is sanitized by our staff.

  • Do you offer water?

Yes! We have a hot and cold water cooler for you to use with your own water bottles. We do also sell bottled water for $2.00 if you happen to forget yours.

  • Can I take videos or pics during class?

We prefer you to be completely present and not distracted by your phone during class but you may film yourself or take pictures at the end of class. Please be considerate of other students around you as they may not want to be on camera.
